Commercial Tile Installation

Retail, restaurant, and office tile work built for durability and daily foot traffic.

Tile That Holds Up Under Commercial Conditions

Commercial tile installation differs from residential work in a few meaningful ways. The scale is larger, the timeline is often constrained by business operations, and the specification requirements are more demanding. A restaurant kitchen floor needs a tile rated for heavy loads, a coefficient of friction that meets health code requirements, and a grout that can handle cleaning chemicals. A retail entry needs large-format tile installed flat enough that nothing shifts or cracks under cart traffic.

We work on commercial projects in Atlanta's southwest neighborhoods and the surrounding areas. We understand the scheduling reality of commercial jobs and can work evenings or weekends to avoid disrupting operations.

Tile Specifications That Matter for Commercial Use

Not every tile is appropriate for every commercial application. The key specifications we look at:

  • PEI wear rating (floor tile abrasion resistance class I through V)
  • DCOF (Dynamic Coefficient of Friction) for wet floor applications
  • Water absorption rate for exterior or high-moisture areas
  • Breaking strength for areas subject to heavy loads or wheeled equipment
  • Chemical resistance for kitchen and commercial cleaning environments

We can help you select tile that meets the requirements for your specific application before the job starts.

Concrete Slab Prep in Commercial Settings

Most commercial buildings sit on concrete slabs. Concrete slabs crack and settle over time, and those movements transfer to tile if the installation does not account for them. We use crack isolation membranes on commercial floors to decouple the tile from minor slab movement. Movement joints at column lines and large-area perimeters are part of any commercial installation done to industry standards. These joints are not optional on large commercial floors.

Types of Commercial Work We Take On

Retail store floors and entryways, restaurant dining room and kitchen floors, office lobby and corridor tile, commercial bathroom and locker room tile, and mixed-use building common areas. We quote commercial jobs by the square foot after a site visit, with separate line items for any substrate repair or prep work.
