Checkered Wall Tile Bathroom in Adair Park

This small bathroom in an Adair Park bungalow was retiled with a checkered textured wall tile in two neutral tones. The tile is a large-format ceramic with alternating matte and gloss textures that create the checkered pattern without using two different colors, which keeps the palette restrained. In a small bathroom, a wall tile with visual interest can make the space feel more intentional without overwhelming it.

The wall tile runs floor to ceiling on three walls. In a room this size, going full height with the tile eliminates the need for a paint-to-tile transition, which can look unfinished in a small bathroom. The grout joint is kept tight and the grout color matches the lighter tile tone to keep the pattern reading clearly.
